Careers Explorium
Loddon Campaspe Region
High quality careers exploration resources to help schools, job agencies, and industries guide young people to their best job.
What is the careers explorium?
The explorium provides a curated menu of evidence-based and industry-embedded resources to help those working face-to-face with young people to provide these experiences.
Schools, job agencies, and industries can use it to plan and deliver effective career exploration that:
Starts early (late primary) and continues across education and beyond
Ensures teachers/support workers are well-trained to provide modern advice
Is based on information about local labour markets.
What makes the explorium different from other careers exploration tools is that we cover all key transition points from primary to post school, and embed our evaluated resources in real world information and experiences through our links with local industry.

Research shows that young people in our region do not know what careers are out there, or how to get them. Many choose one of 10 popular jobs – whether they suit them or not. This creates expensive missteps including high rates of higher education drop out.
The good news is that research also shows that 9 teenage experiences are associated with faster transition into employment with higher pay and greater job satisfaction.
